We were shocked and disturbed to learn that the Virginia Beach Public Library was hosting and promoting the Drag Queen Story Time each month for the last few months. This event gives a platform to a nightclub exhibitionist whose stage name is Gillette Black. The library has thought it acceptable to allow him to read stories about gender dysphoria to children as young as three, while extravagantly dressed in immodest drag attire.
Our church has the conviction that we cannot allow this event to continue without a Christ-centered response. That is why we asked for and received permission from the library to hold a Celebration of the Biblical Family. We will be gathering together in this public forum to affirm the wisdom, beauty, and grandeur of the family, as defined by the Word of God. This is not an attack on any individual or group, this is an opportunity to present a positive, encouraging and enlightening message to a world that is lost in much confusion.
If you were as shocked as we were at the Drag Queen Story Time, we hope that you'll bring your family to the Joint-Use Public Library on Saturday, the 29th of September at 1PM to remind our community that there are still a few people left that will stand up to the immoral trends of the world.
