The concept of a new year holds deep significance. Throughout the Scriptures, we find references to reflecting, renewing, and setting our eyes on what lies ahead. The Apostle Paul himself declared,
"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)
New Year's symbolizes growth and change, a reminder of the continuous journey of transformation we partake in as believers. Just as the world around us embraces the opportunity for a fresh start, we, too, have the privilege of experiencing spiritual renewal in Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us,
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
As the world rejoices in the advent of a new year, let us exemplify this spirit of growth, change, and hope.
